He was surprised by how gentle Yangus was. Or not gentle, precisely, but careful: to prepare him, to ensure his pleasure, even of his feelings, for Goddess' sake.
Whatever had possessed him to offer himself to Yangus this way - penance, perhaps, for his many flaws, one of which must have driven Jessica to leave them - he couldn't regret it. Yangus was far too gentle - careful - to bring back memories he'd sooner leave forgotten, taking him from penance to pleasure, filling him, stroking him with surprisingly deft hands.
For the first time, the weight of another pinning him felt like shelter rather than imprisonment.
After, Yangus cleaned them both, gentle, careful, even in so simple a task, then patted his shoulder awkwardly, as if unsure the gesture would be welcome. "We'll get 'er back, you know."
Angelo smiled, because after this, anything seemed possible. "I know."
